Welcome Note from Tine Sloan, Director

Dear TEP Alumni,

I’m excited at the prospect of us reuniting TEP cohort members. If there’s one thing I’ve noticed in my relatively short time in TEP, it’s how close all of you become as you slog through—ok, rise to—the challenges together. We put you through a lot in your short year here, hopefully now you know why. Please come back and visit with us, with your cohort, and help us honor some great teacher educators. We’ll also invite our current TEP candidates and you know they’re always eager for your advice.

Please also post your ideas for weekend activities that we can coordinate. Ideas so far (but nothing’s set so help us decide):

· Family picnic on Saturday

· MST-SST soccer game

· Some sort of lecture or panel session with speakers of interest

· Movie night in the GGSE

· What else?

And because it’s also the All Gaucho Reunion you will have access to the Rec Center, free parking, and many other events that are planned for the weekend.

The TEP recently received huge kudos as part of an important external review. Nationally, teacher education is under fire like no time in history. Please come share your stories and your work—it will help us advocate for quality preparation.

Tine Sloan

Director, UCSB TEP
