TEP Alumni Reception RSVP Reminder

Hi everyone!

There are only 3 more weeks until the TEP Alumni Reunion Reception, on Friday, April 23rd, from 5pm to 7pm, at Ackerman Terrace (located on the 4th floor of our Education Building). In order to obtain an accurate head count, we will be accepting RSVP's until April 16th at the RSVP webpage: http://education.ucsb.edu/About/alumni-news.htm *Please note: the RSVP form works now (for those of you that had errors when you initially tried to submit the form).

Other activities for Saturday, April 24th are still being planned (such as a possible TEP family picnic in Goleta), so stay tuned to this blog and to the Alumni News webpage on our Education website for up to date information.

If anyone would like to share any stories, memories, videos, and/or pictures from their TEP years, or any special messages they would like to send to any of the four honorees, please feel free to share in the comments section (or you may also email me to add it as a separate blog post: maritza [at] education.ucsb.edu).

Lastly, even if you cannot attend, we would appreciate it if you could take a couple of minutes and fill out the RSVP form so that we may update our alumni records.

That's all for this update, hope to see you here on April 23rd!

Welcome Note from Tine Sloan, Director

Dear TEP Alumni,

I’m excited at the prospect of us reuniting TEP cohort members. If there’s one thing I’ve noticed in my relatively short time in TEP, it’s how close all of you become as you slog through—ok, rise to—the challenges together. We put you through a lot in your short year here, hopefully now you know why. Please come back and visit with us, with your cohort, and help us honor some great teacher educators. We’ll also invite our current TEP candidates and you know they’re always eager for your advice.

Please also post your ideas for weekend activities that we can coordinate. Ideas so far (but nothing’s set so help us decide):

· Family picnic on Saturday

· MST-SST soccer game

· Some sort of lecture or panel session with speakers of interest

· Movie night in the GGSE

· What else?

And because it’s also the All Gaucho Reunion you will have access to the Rec Center, free parking, and many other events that are planned for the weekend.

The TEP recently received huge kudos as part of an important external review. Nationally, teacher education is under fire like no time in history. Please come share your stories and your work—it will help us advocate for quality preparation.

Tine Sloan
